Women's Workplace Issues

March 16 we will be addressing: What's the latest on issues affecting women, like human trafficking, sexual abuse and harassment, employment and other challenges for women nationally and locally?

Ruth Silver-Taube is the Supervising Attorney of the Worker's Rights Clinic at the Katharine & Geogre Alexander Community Law Center at Santa Clara University School of Law. She is the Legal Services Chair of the South Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking as well as the Coordinator of the Santa Clara County Wage Theft Coalition, Founding Member of the Bay Area Equal Pay Collaborative and Board Member of the San Jose Peace and Justice Center.

International Women's Day is March 8 and the theme is #PressforProgress. While this meeting is our way of participating in honoring women in March, we are not participating in IWD because one of their corporate sponsors is Caterpillar, a company known for its human rights violations in Palestine/Israel. We support the BDS movement of which Caterpillar is part.
