Care First: A SURJ Teach-in: How Racism Has Shaped the Criminal Legal System

VIRTUAL MEETING

Join our guests from Showing Up for Racial Justice at Sacred Heart (SURJ) for learning and discussion about how racism has shaped our criminal legal system and what it might mean to truly make our community safer for everyone.

If you've been horrified over the last couple of years about policing and incarceration, this is a chance to learn about a local campaign and take action NOW to stop Santa Clara County from building a $390 million new jail.

Showing Up for Racial Justice organizes white people and other people with privilege in solidarity with people-of-color led accountability partners working to dismantle systemic racism here in Santa Clara County. SURJ is part of the Care First, Jails Last coalition led by Silicon Valley De-Bug.

This virtual meeting is our regular third Friday WILPF SJ meeting. RSVP and the link will become visible.

The Raging Grannies open and close the meeting so arrive early! The link opens at 6:45.

We welcome you to this important discussion.
